As a collaboration tool, we needed to simplify the process for people to build, promote, visualize, and share their data, so we released initiatives and projects to streamline the process of setting a goal and recruiting others to help achieve it.
Metrics
A key part element to tracking the success of an initiative or a project is through performance management. Metrics provide accountability and data transparency on the progress being made by an organization.
Telemetry Dashboards
To improve data-informed product design decisions, I piloted using UX success metrics within my domain team's features and then built a Grafana dashboard with our telemetry service to track our progress.
Keyboard Navigation I
Traditionally, maps have not been very friendly to assistive technologies due to their visual nature and volume of data. But as technology changes and laws expand to encompass a broad spectrum digital experience, it was time to get innovative on how we might handle keyboard interactions on maps.
Keyboard Navigation II
Because the keyboard navigation feature would be implemented directly into our Maps SDK for Javascript, there could be no gating of functionality. We had to be really sure about the proposed solution, so armed with two live prototypes, I conducted an A/B test with both customers and staff.
Accessibility Documentation
To ensure design was accurately communicating necessary user interaction information to development during the transfer of assets, I crafted accessibility documentation to help others understand when and why certain factors should be considered.
